On May 15 th 2009 GTS Cape Town celebrated its 10 year anniversary. A decade of achievement and exceptional growth was commemorated by showing appreciation to our dedicated staff, stakeholders and service providers, who came a long way with us.

An official breakfast function at Cape Town 's renowned V&A Waterfront was attended by 120 high calibre guests, including official representatives from the government (e.g. Mr. Winde - newly elected Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism), the German, Swiss and Austrian consuls, our key service providers as well as colleagues from GTS & Lufthansa. In the evening we celebrated this milestone a bit more informal with over 250 staff members.

In her opening speech Managing Director Birgit Thümecke (CPT XR) passionately reflected on starting as an overflow call centre for the German Market to now deliver a comprehensive and very diverse portfolio of services. Dr Huber (FRA XC) congratulated GTS Cape Town on behalf of Lufthansa and assisted Birgit Thümecke with awarding our most loyal staff members for their 10 years of committed service with GTS Cape Town.

We would like to take the opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to all colleagues from other GTS locations, suppliers, clients, sponsors and Lufthansa for their great support. It is also greatly through your contribution that 10 outstanding years in Cape Town was made possible.
